I wanted to talk about the social and economic conditions that give rise to cultism but more importantly the basic psychology. We are social animals, and in a time when social trust is at historic lows it's only natural that people are going to gravitate to cults, which is precisely what we're seeing now. The only difference - and even that's debatable - is that many of the biggest modern cults are not outwardly theistic.
It's all making for interesting times, in the Chinese curse sense. But it also demands that we become freelance deprogrammers, countering some of the nonsense that many of the most powerful cults use to entangle the unsuspecting.
Very much interested in hearing your thoughts on this and sharing strategies to keep ourselves and our loved ones sane.
